Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Care Teacher to join our team and contribute to the holistic development of our students. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and supportive environment, ensuring the well-being of the students in our care. The Student Care Teacher will play a crucial role in providing academic support, fostering positive social skills, and promoting a love for learning.
Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Care:
- Provide a safe and secure environment for students during non-school hours.
- Ensure the well-being of students by monitoring their activities and addressing any health or safety concerns.
2. Academic Support:
- Assist students with homework and assignments, offering guidance and clarification when needed.
- Facilitate and encourage a love for learning through engaging educational activities.
3. Social and Emotional Development:
- Foster positive relationships among students and promote a sense of community.
- Address behavioral issues through positive reinforcement and constructive communication.
- Encourage the development of social skills, empathy, and emotional intelligence.
Organisational Tasks:
- Plan and organise age-appropriate activities, events, and programs that contribute to students’ holistic development.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behavior, and progress.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to coach primary level curriculum. Proficiency in multiple subjects (especially Mandarin) for multiple levels is a plus.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or caregiving setting is ideal but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in the well-being and development of students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school staff.
Working Conditions:
- Permanent part-time position averaging 6 hours per day during the school term with longer paid hours during school holidays.
